I had a beautiful yesterday, with my girls, watching Willow dance, holding my breath as she did her part, not sure she would remember it all after so long an absence. But she had practiced in the Hawaiian sands, and the music flowed through her as ever.
Riding back home, hearing the laughter of my girls in the back seat, their grandmother Kathleen remarking how wondrous it was that two sisters could get along so well. How did I get so lucky?
Just watching them, Emily and Willow, sunny and golden, warming my heart.
This evening, preparing a good home-cooked meal for them, sitting with them, calm and relaxed, enjoying their good company without any notion of rushing off to do anything else but absorb their spirit.
I thought I might go to sleep early, when they did, but... I peeked into some journals and got way too inspired. My energy soared as I began at 11:00, 12:00... The art elf scuttles about in secret.
My last self-portrait of last week remains undone but with clear intentions of completing it. In the meantime, this week's theme from Misty is color. Excuse my camera work - I don't like to use flash and I guess my room is too dark, but the colors really are shades of blue. (Mostly.)
(p.s. I hope this counts as day one of the seven days - you know how my days overlap with the next. ;-)

BEAUTIUS - Hey there sweets - your work is amazing - I am glad to hear you are happy with your girls home - quiet is nice but the noise of your kids makes life - your life.
