March 10 - April 10: Dollmakers II, Cactus Gallery, Eagle Rock, California
Opening reception March 10th from 7 to 10 p.m.
From the press release: "Los Angeles, CA - Cactus Gallery proudly presents its second annual dollmakers exhibit. The opening reception, which coincides with Northeast Los Angeles' Second Saturday Gallery Night, is free and open to the public and will take place on Saturday, March 10th, from 7-10pm.

"Dollmakers will showcase numerous new artists from different parts of the U.S. and Canada, alongside new works from several of our regular Cactus family members. This exhibit features painstakingly beautiful, slightly twisted, and hauntingly lifelike dolls. The styles are as diverse as the artists who created them, each full of quirky personality - true mixed media wonders. Dollmakers aims to shine a light on some of the most exciting dolllmakers around."

I will have five dolls in this show.  For my L.A. friends, I'm looking into attending the opening reception.  We'll see...

May 10th and 11th: WABE Convention, Artist of the Year

I am thrilled and honored to have been chosen Artist of the Year for this year's Washington Association of Bilingual Educators!  The piece I made for WABE and submitted to the committee was selected as the image to promote the convention, and will be the cover art on their program.  The convention will be held at the Tacoma Convention Center, and I will have a display there selling my art as well as prints of the winning image.  A big thanks to Jen H. for alerting me to this opportunity!

I'd like to acknowledge and thank my Artist Success coach, Lesley Riley, for pushing me to get my stuff OUT THERE!  Also to Peggy C. and my dear Robbie for being so supportive.  The journey is off to a great start!
